Wireless breaker control device

Wireless control is the ability to operate the breaker from 10-100 meters through a secure radio communication channel working on a license free industrial bandwidth. Further range increase and optimization can be achieved with the addition of suitable repeaters. The control module can either be a handheld unit or a suitable wall mounted unit and this allows the operator to select the individual breaker, arm it, do the required “trip/close” operation and receive the actual feedback from the breaker axillary contacts regarding the status of the breaker. All these operations and feedback is available on the wireless communication channel. The unit comes ready with safeguards and interlocks to ensure that an open command is not issued to an already open breaker or a close command to a closed breaker. Moreover the device has provisions for providing line clearance/lock out and tag out to individual breakers. This feature can prevent any operation during maintenance operations. The device is also provided with a real time clock and sufficient memory for data logging purpose. The data can be downloaded onto a computer via the on-board USB connection. Time stamped report generation facility is also provided on a computer based application which ensures no manual tagging of breaker events.

ANNUNICATORS

Garden Power Technologies now offers two types of Annunciators.

1. Conventional

The Atola series of annunciators are based on a core modular design approach for both mechanical and electrical features. This enables us to provide an unrestricted Row and Column configurations. Three window sizes are provided as well as numerous features like built in push buttons, buzzer and dual power supply with DC fail and AC fail alarms. Repeat relays are also provided as required. The annunciator can also be provided with Modbus input and output.

2. Smart Annunciators (IEC 61850 based)

Modern day substations are a combination of digital and analogue technologies coming together to distribute power through the grid. An annunciator that could work simultaneously with both technologies is the need of the hour.

The key features of such a product include the following.

• Subscribe to the digital devices on the substation bus. (IEC 61850 client architecture)
• Accept relay hardwired inputs from legacy devices.
• Program lamps on the annunciator to be triggered from both sets of inputs individually or as a combination
• Report hardwired alarms back to the station bus for further transfer of information. (IEC 61850 server)
• Provide repeater relays to multiply either digitized inputs or relay inputs for other logic

TEST BLOCK

The ITB is a new generation Test Block offering facilities for monitoring and secondary injection testing of any power system protection scheme. The ITB provided 14 circuits with each of the circuit brought out to separate pairs of 4mm screw terminations at the rear of the test block.The ITB is compatible with both MMLB and RMLB test plugs. Similarly, the test plug ITP can be used with test blocks such as MMLG and RMLG as well.The front cover of the test block is provided with a metallic probe which shorts circuit 13 and 14 when the front cover is attached to the test block.
